  1. “You have given the option for date change due COVID19 with applicable “difference in fare” subject to availability for later travel date till 26 SEP20 or may process refund for unused sector fare and taxes”.

My comments on the above instructions on re-booking by SIA are as under:

Option 1: Re-booking: Your above statement in particular on the first option for our re-bookings in the mail is rather surprising which is a hit back from Singapore Airlines on the clients. Firstly SIA should know that it is NOT the mistake of the passengers and we would certainly like to travel on the scheduled date of 25th July. However, SIA should know that they had cancelled the flights and not the passengers, and SIA has suggested and advised the passengers to re-book the flight for a different date; in such is the case then “why the passengers have to pay the difference of the fare” on the date of revised booking? why the passengers are being penalized since it is the fault of Singapore Airlines for not operating the flight on the date of my booking?; the instructions issued by the SIA administration during this period is almost tantamount to SIA’s normal rule, i.e. for a date change by a passenger, he need to pay the difference of fare. The only exception given by SIA during the period of Covid-19 is that there no cancellation or re-booking fee, but SIA should have waived the “difference in fare” also since the re-booking is also related during the same Covid-19 period.

Please note that in this case, we are willing to undertake our travel, but it is the Singapore airlines who decided not to operate, as such, there is no logic and is meaningless to ask the passenger to pay the difference of the fare for a revised date of booking. Certainly I would like to re-book on a different date (since no flights are operating by SIA from (SFO-HYD) by using the same Business class ticket with no additional payment.

I want the Management to answer my query as there is no logic and meaningless to charge the difference in fare for re-booking due to current Covid situation by SIA.

Option 2: Regarding refund:, I have taken up the matter with HYD Singapore airlines to clarify the refund I am entitled for my “unused business class” ticket from SFO- SIN-HYD. Please note that I had flown from HYD- SIN by economy and from SIN-SFO by premium economy, but for our return on 25th July our booking is in Business. As such , in calculating the refund our business class fare has to be considered. Your call centers are making gross mistake by applying same premium class fare for both sectors ( outward & Return) which is totally incorrect.
