About Harris Scarfe Australia: Harris Scarfe is an Australian department store that was established in Adelaide, South Australia in 1849. The store sells primarily kitchenware, manchester, electrical goods, and apparel, and it is owned by South African retail group Pepkor. As of September 2015, there were 54 Harris Scarfe stores in two formats: “Harris Scarfe” department stores and “HS Home” or “Harris Scarfe Home” homewares stores.

Harris Scarfe has expanded through organic growth, new store openings, mergers, and acquisitions. The current store network reflects this mix, in particular, the purchase or merging of regional or state based retail groups including Allens in New South Wales and FitzGerald’s in Tasmania. The group is now owned by Pepkor, but has at times been subject to different ownership structures and a period of being in receivership. The Rundle Place store on Rundle Mall, Adelaide has remained the business’ main store and showcases a contemporary “look and feel” across two floors. Regional and suburban store layout varies significantly.

  5. Good morning
I felt it neccessary to voice my concern on a dodgy business practice I assume in all your stores for the failure to openly display your prices and in the correct place. I went to your Airport West store on Wednesday to pick up a donna cover and found a item that i was interested i. I then went to the area for a donna, now that is a mind field of compnies and sizes but not one visable price. I tried find someone to help but that like the bank giving away money, I did find a male and female looking very offical and was walked to the area and asked numerous questions and it was explained. In the bottom corner of the pacaging there was a black and white sticker the half size of the postage stamp and its all there. I explained that it is the resposability of the store to clearly identify the price to which the response was they have. Not good enough. I went to purchase the Donna cover only to find in my eyes the price was incorrect by $10 there was no one to check the price so I did. It was on a corner stand ithe price was on the top shelf in the middle but as i was t understand even though everything was the same the actual product name was different, this was deception because there was no price on the donna that match the exact details. As i was walking out and left a coment the with the person from the front I was to find out three things, the price for the donna cover was to be found around the corner I ask you why? Everyone that I was in contact me agreed that they ave done nothing wrong in fact they are very good at customers service, The store was virtually empty and you could use a bowling ball down the isle and you would see a staff member anywhere.
Customers service training is essiential dont blame your customers for your failures to correctly display prices and there attitude it is your legal obligation. Make sure the specials are correctly labled.

What a disgrace, interesting this is not a new problem it appears in choice as a serious issue.
Im not finished with this deceptive practices need to be addressed and stamped out.

    Not Happy
